This is the before picture of the fireplace. The owners sent the mantle out to be dipped,stripped
and repaired.
I restored the firebox,the front surround,the hearth and then re-installed the mantle after some minor assembly of trim pieces.
By drawing this fireplace surround to scale we were able to catch an awkward one inch high row of tiles just below the cap molding on top.The drawing enabled us to adjust the layout to create a
sym-
metrical
layout.
